What was changed on the obverse and reverse sides of banknotes in denomination of 50 Lari and why?

On the obverse side of the banknote, the monastery complex in cave “Vardzia” and bas-relief images from Pitareti Virgin Monastery of XIII century were added to emphasize the content, different portrait of King Tamar was used in improved relief and volume for easier identification of the denomination.


On the reverse side, one of the pages of astrological tractate as well as an ornament (which was on the obverse side of the previous banknotes) and the Coat of arms of Georgia (as a mandatory attribute for currency units) were added.
