Were the sizes of upgraded Banknotes changed and why?

Diagonal increase principle was chosen as the direction of development of the dimensions of the upgraded Lari banknotes according to denominations, taking into account that the difference between the denominations should be 5mm length and 2mm width.

There are three different directions of banknote size changes: (1) All denominations of the same sizes; (2) Increase of the size of banknotes only in length; (3) Even (in length and width) diagonal increase of banknote sizes. Such a tendency of banknote sizes increase was not followed for the banknotes issued in the previous years, despite of their different sizes, but this is envisaged for the upgraded banknotes.
